Senegal, Dakar

600MW Solar installation

The PWER.ME Foundation is working with UPVolt Energy Solutions in Senegal to develop a 600MW solar installation including batteries about 13 kilometres from the capital Dakar.
Senegal is a country in West Africa with a population of about 16 million. The capital of Senegal is Dakar. It is located on the Cape Verde peninsula, the westernmost point of mainland Africa. Because of this location, the city is convenient for trade with Europe and America and has become one of the most important ports on the western side of the continent. The city is located in the Dakar region of the same name. According to the census conducted by UN data in 2011, the municipality of Dakar had a population of 1,056,009 and an agglomeration of 3,215,255.

2MW Solar and battery

PWER.ME Foundation and UPVolt Energy Solutions are developing the construction of a 2MW solar panel field, including a battery supply.
Inogo is the capital of Mai-Ndombe province in Congo DRC. It has about 60,000 inhabitants. The city is located on Lake Mai-Ndombe. The city is only accessible by air and water, making living in the city very expensive. For many parts of the day, there is no electricity. Also, the power supply is unstable. Because it is so expensive, people only use the energy from late afternoon to evening. Energy is generated from diesel. Some houses have one or a few solar panels.

Electric vehicels

The PWER.ME Foundation in collaboration with several universities and partners in Senegal, is developing an assembly factory for electric vehicles. The vehicles are based on a fixed base platform on which either van chassis can be placed, ordinary passenger car or sports car models can be made. With the fixed platform construction and drive in different body designs, this contributes to an economically viable concept.

Senegal is a country in West Africa. The capital of Senegal is Dakar. The project contributes to employment and clean mobility and will be implemented simultaneously with the installation of solar fields and charging plazas to power the vehicles.

Somalia, Bosaso

20MW Solar Installation

Bosaso, with over 1 million inhabitants, is a major port city in Somalia and is considered the easternmost city in Africa. The project contributes to increased employment and improve living standards, among other things.
Environmental Impact

The project aims to cut over 22,000 tonnes of CO2 emissions annually by transitioning from diesel generators to renewable solar energy.

Solar Power Initiative

PWER.ME Foundation, in collaboration with UPVolt Energy Solutions, is building a 20MW solar power plant with battery storage near Bosaso, Somaliland, leveraging its year-round sunshine.

Economic Benefits

The solar plant will provide significantly cheaper power, reducing reliance on costly diesel imports and lowering foreign exchange demands.

Sustainability Focus

This development represents a shift towards sustainable energy solutions in a region currently dependent on expensive and polluting diesel-generated electricity.

Cape Verde, Sal

Tomatoes and drinking water

The PWER.ME Foundation, Biofy, and UPVolt are building a solar greenhouse that generates electricity, provides shade, and ensures proper airflow for crops. Using recyclable solar panels and water sourced from sea air and pool water with Rainmaker, the greenhouse will sustainably grow tomatoes.

Sal, Cape Verde, has high demand for fresh vegetables but lacks local production. Tomatoes are imported at high cost and low quality. PWER.ME Foundation and Biofy are promoting local food production to reduce imports, improve quality, and create jobs and education opportunities.
Vision

To make Sal, Cape Verde, a center for sustainable local food production, reducing costly imports while delivering fresh, high-quality vegetables. Our goal is to improve food access, create jobs, and provide education, fostering a self-sufficient and thriving community.

Mission

To promote sustainable food production on Sal, Cape Verde, by growing fresh, local vegetables. Partnering with Biofy, we aim to reduce imports, lower costs, improve quality, create jobs, and empower the community through education and sustainable practices.

Motto

Grow Local, Live Sustainable – Providing fresh, local produce, reducing environmental impact, and building a self-reliant future for Sal, Cape Verde.

Senegal, Rhazaba

Air-to-Water project

PWER.ME Foundation, together with UPVolt Energy Solutions and other partners, is developing a drinking water factory in Senegal. The factory will come prefabricated from the Netherlands including the equipment. This sustainable project will help towards the demand for clean drinking water. This will use the first Air-to-Water (AWG) production in Senegal. Rainmaker International BV will provide its high-quality and innovative technology to extract water from the air.
Senegal is a country in West Africa. the capital of Senegal is Dakar. Senegal’s drinking water supply comes from groundwater sources. These sources are increasingly threatened by overuse and pollution. the over-abstraction of groundwater can lead to environmental problems, including land subsidence and the deterioration of water quality.

Congo DRC, Inongo

Fish and air-to-water factory

PWER.ME Foundation, together with UPVolt Energy Solutions and partners, is developing two factories, a fish factory and a drinking water factory.

This project is phase one of a project of a total of 6 factories. The second phase is the development of a goat cheese factory, a wild honey factory, and a cold store. These factories will create many jobs, in the factory, fishermen, and logistics.

The site is in Inongo, a town in the Democratic Republic of Congo located on the shores of Lake Mai-Ndombe and is the capital of Mai-Ndombe province. Inongo has an estimated population of 60,000. In terms of surface area, the province is about three time the Netherlands.
